Product Details

Flaxland make these wood scutching tools. Hand made in our workshop from local English Ash, excellent balance for ease of use 590mm long. These are used for scrapping the flax fibre after it has been crimped and helps to remove the remaining shive along with separating out the fibres and adding a 'lustre' to the fibre. Once scutched, it will then be ready for hackling.
